Trump Keeps Proving He Doesn’t Care About Our Service Members

What’s happening:

The USS Abraham Lincoln has been out at sea for over 260 days, and the conditions have become intolerable. Our servicemen and women on the carrier have moldy showers with sporadic hot water, rationed meals and soap, and broken toilets. They are working grueling, 12- to 16-hour shifts with no days off, and with barely any stops at ports, and we’ve heard frightening stories of crew members threatening to jump off the ship. As a Marine who served in Iraq, I know first-hand how psychotically challenging these deployments can be. Add worsening conditions to an already high-stress situation, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

This a deep-rooted issue that can only come from a lack of leadership and planning. Pete Hegseth and Trump have proved time and time again they have no regards for our servicemen and women and only view them as toys rather than real people. Trump even said that 260 days at sea is “not nearly long enough.” There is obviously no plan to end the Iran War and Americans are only seeing prices rise and their government spend more money.

The next step:

I’m organizing an official, bipartisan Senate oversight visit to the USS Lincoln to hold this administration accountable.

Trump is trying to hide the real answers, saying this story is 'fake news.’ It's time we got them.
